Growth Performance of Black Pepper Using Multiple Rootstocks of Piper oficinarum

An on going trial is conducted at 8PS AGRI FARM using single, double and tripple rootstocks of 'buyo-buyo' as rootstock of black pepper. A four-month grafts of the said rootstocks shows no difference on plant hight mesauring about 1 meter. The response of the grafts against Phytophthora and nematode are under evaluation. Ginger Production Under Kapok Trees

A new production technology was developed at 8PS AGRI FARM of planting ginger under the kapok trees or duldol. The first year of implementation shown promising results. Currently, the farm is validating and fine tuning the technology using the appropriate agricultural production practices. Native Ginger Variety Ideal for Ginger Tea Processing

One of the important economic use of ginger is for processed tea products. Tea provides health benefits. To produce an unsweetened ginger, dry the ginger using the dehydrated machine, grind, pack and label to the appropriate packaging material. Access of Rice Farmers with the Appropriate High Yielding Varieties

The 8P'S AGRI FARM in Manacabac, Janiuay, Iloilo is maintaining a rice seed production area. The farm serves as technology demonstration site of the newly and high yielding rice varieties approved by the National Seed Industry Council as well innovative technoogies. Planting materials of higher classes of rice seeds are accessed from PhilRice, IRRI and Bureau of Plant Industry.  In 2018, the available certified palay seeds for sale at PhP34/kg are NSIC Rc18, Rc358 and Rc360.
